MyPCBackup Case Study

Hey guys today i am going to write a case study about a well known offer available on almost every network called My PC Backup i have been promoting this offer since a few months now and i have learned a lot from this offer i have tested it on almost 5+ networks using PPV Networks Lead Impact and traffic Vance both . I have tested almost 10 + landing page and 5+ separate campaigns with different kind of targets and targeting approaches and i would like to say i made good money off this campaign how ever i did noticed some very weird stuff and that was after running some volume i did noticed drop in conversion rates and this happened on all 5 networks i tested this offer with which was strange and that’s the reason i switched to a similar niche and that’s working great for me . Anyways here we are going to discuss my MyPCBackup  offer ,here is a screen shot for one of my campaign .

What i used

  • PPV Accounts (Leadimpact & traffic vance )
  • Tracking : CPV LAB
  • Hosting For tracker and Landing pages : Beyond Hosting
  • Photoshop (for landing pages).
  • Aff playbook tools for scrapping high traffic urls.

Here are the landing pages i started off my campaign with

Now if you look at landing page one and two they are two variations of a same landing page i just changed color of my first landing page. In third landing page i did added animation in image using Photoshop ( click on landing page three to see it working. ) and added a animated arrow pointing TRY IT FREE BUTTON . **i  also added windows default error sound to the landing page 2 and 3 .

Here is the CTR i got on these three landing pages .

LP1 : 2.59%

LP2: 4.46%

LP3 : 20.35%


Here LP2 got 4.465 ctr as i added sound in it and more then that just one more addition in this ctr (animated arrow ) boosted ctr to 20.35% . Later on in doubled my ctr on landers i further created ( sorry i am not going to disclose those landers here. )


Targets : I use Aff playbook tools for scrapping high traffic urls. i really can not disclose my targets here as i am still promoting similar stuff on them , Just take a break and think about who will need backup and where do they go and you will easily find some really good targets for your campaigns . Also my purpose here is not to make you copy cat but to let you know how exactly you do test out offers and buildup your campaigns.


Final thoughts :  A very small change in your landing page can bring in huge change in ctr always do test different things and keep on tweaking your landing page and campaigns . Always start off with more then one landing page and make sure you rotate them and carry out diffrnet tests on your landing page and monitor your traffic using trackers .

  2. Excellent case study KJ! I imagine the default Windows sounds work well to help increase conversions because of familiarity. I am curious to know though which other sounds might help give them a further bump. Worth testing. Either way, nice touch!

    • Hey thanks for stopping by,Yea windows sounds specially error sounds are a great way to grab attention, I have also tried text to speech sounds and they also work well 🙂

  7. I’ve been playing with the My PC Backup and Just Cloud offer. I have been running PPC traffic and targeting these URL’s also returning a profit but not much volume.

  12. They scrub leads hard if they see traffic that does not convet to sales. At the beginning you will see good EPC rates but after that expect EPC drop. Be carefull. MyPCBackup and JustCloud are the same merchants! Only different brands.

    I am a newbie and I am trying to promote this offer. Would you suggest me to go with LI and TA? Would be thankful to you if you give us tips on what to target and in choosing kws.

  14. Why does that happen? All my offers are the same ( 7search->peerfly or maxbounty) – it seems EPC is really good the first day or two, then drops like a stone. So far for all my campaigns, it starts well, then goes under water. Very peculiar.

    What resolution do you suggest is the best for ppv landing pages?

    My campaign was running very well. LP not as high in CTR as yours, but 7-12%. Got 9% conversion rate for like 2-3 days.

    Suddenly, it goes from there to 2%, 1%, and now 0%. None for more than a hundred clicks!

    What do you suggest?

  20. When you said 5+, you meant 5 campaigns, or 50+ campaigns on this offer? Do you have a separate LP for each campaign?
